My Story

Growing up as a little girl I always had a fondness for drawing. I remember I would often have a pad and pencils with me on holidays for example and I would particularly like to draw characters from Disney.

My passion for Art continued at School and I studied the subject at both GCSE and A Level. Even then I had a particular interest in realism and studied photo realism for my A Level Art coursework.

Despite being creative and loving to draw I never pursued Art as a career and in fact my journey led me down a very different path of building a Holiday Let Cleaning business in the Lakes which I still manage to this day alongside my husband.

The business and our team of cleaners grew rapidly and it soon became rather stressful. It was towards the end of 2016 that I returned to drawing as a form of stress relief to take my mind off the demands of the business.

I had never really drawn animals before always preferring human portraiture but decided to have a little try.

As soon as I started drawing again the passion was reignited and I just couldn't stop!

I decided to post a few pieces on social media and the response was so heart warming that it gave me the confidence to continue drawing.

My husband started throwing ideas around about opening a shop and once that seed had been sown I just could not get the idea out of my head.

We were lucky enough to find our first shop in Bowness on Windermere very quickly and opened our doors in March 2017.

We had such amazing support with the first shop that when the adjacent shop became available in September 2018 we jumped at the chance to expand the business.

The gallery is due to celebrate its 6th Birthday this forthcoming March. I am so grateful for every single person who has supported my dream along the way. I simply wouldn't be able to continue my journey of creativity with out you.

Thank you x
